It didn't start with a business idea.

It started with my mother.

Even though we come from a jewellery family, my mother loved exploring different jewellery stores whenever she wanted to buy silver — whether it was a pair of anklets, a ring, a pendant, or a bracelet. Like every customer, she trusted what she was told and paid the price believing she was taking home quality silver jewellery.

But a few years later, when she tried to sell some of those pieces back, she faced something many people experience.

The value offered was far lower than expected.

The explanation was simple: the silver wasn't as pure as she believed.

Curious to understand why, we had some of those jewellery pieces tested.

To our surprise, most of the pieces were found to be in the range of 40–50% silver.

That moment changed everything for us.

We kept asking ourselves: if this could happen to our own family, despite being in the jewellery business, how many other people were unknowingly facing the same problem?

That's when I started thinking something had to be done about this. I couldn't just let it go. So after finishing my studies, I came back home and started working on what would become Arumayi.

How We Make Sure This Never Happens to You

Every batch of silver we use is tested for purity before it becomes a piece of jewellery — not just claimed, checked. If a piece doesn't meet our standard, it doesn't go out with the Arumayi name on it.

We'd rather lose a sale telling you the truth than have you find out the hard way, years later, the way my mother did.
